Excellence in Women’s Health and Gynaecological Surgery
I have always been committed to treating ‘the total woman’. It is almost never a single condition that presents in isolation.
I have a special interest in treating endometriosis, heavy periods, fertility control, abnormal pap smears, polycystic ovarian syndrome, cysts, fybroids, polyps, prolapse and post menopausal bleeding.
My expertise in Laparoscopic Surgery means that I can treat many of the above conditions with an outcome of less pain, faster recovery, minimal scarring, early return to activity and reduced risk of infection.
I spent my training years in the formative times of laparoscopic surgery and its development. This was when all laparoscopic surgery could offer was looking through a telescope and making a diagnosis. Now, virtually all surgery can be performed via small cuts and large display screens. This is known as “Keyhole Surgery”
I have always belonged to the Australian Gynaecologic Endoscopy Society (AGES) and in 2000 won their Travelling Fellowship for further education.
Your initial consultation will involve a full medical history, complete examination and usually an ultrasound to exclude all gynaecological conditions.
Some of our most common treatments include:
- Endometriosis, including ovarian and bowel involvement. Sometimes in combination with a colorectal surgeon
- Fertility assessment and management including management of ectopic pregnancies
- Management of heavy or painful periods
- Management of Ovarian Cysts
- Prolapse surgery
- Management of abnormal pap smears
